A LITTLE HELP PLANNING
Planning a swim with your baby or toddler
A little preparation makes it easier to decide whether a swim fits today. Start with the session type and supervision rules, then check the booking process and pool access.
Reviewed 7 September 2026. Check current provider details before leaving.
Find a session, not just a pool
Parent & Tot, leisure, play-pool and fun swims can have different age and access rules. A facility may be open while its pool is being used for lessons or lane swimming. Follow the provider’s session timetable.
Check how many adults you need
Supervision requirements differ by municipality and session. Caledon requires a guardian aged 14+ within arm’s reach for children aged 5 and under, with a maximum of two children per guardian. Halton Hills Family Swim requires a guardian aged 18+. Read the rules for your chosen swim rather than carrying one pool’s rules into another.
Leave room for arrival
Check registration, changing-room access and what to bring before leaving. Ask about swim diapers, permitted flotation aids and which pool areas are available. If a needed detail is missing, contact the provider; Busy Bug does not treat unknown information as confirmed.
